The Tūturiwhatu  or  New Zealand dotterel (Charadrius obscurus) is a small endemic and threatened shorebird that has responded reasonably well to conservation efforts with populations slowly recovering.

Similarly, we are a small group of conservation-oriented people, most with a bit of history in New Zealand. The vision of Dotterel Publishing is to disseminate relevant research and conservation materials in easily accessible formats at affordable costs (or free of charge).
